Our internship programme is designed to give you hands-on industry experience. You can expect to improve your expertise within your specialised subject area, and gain valuable transferable skills to set yourself up for success in the workplace.
Watch our chat with our Data Science Intern, Niall, and hear about his summer interning in the Metrics and Evaluation team at Benevolent:
We generally cover tech internships in areas such as data science, AI, machine learning and SRE, as well as internship opportunities in several business operations functions. Please keep an eye on our internship page for updates.
All of our interns are paid and have access to fantastic benefits such as health cash plan options, life insurance, pension scheme (for 22+ years old), mental health and wellbeing support, and paid volunteering day. We’ll also provide you with plenty of opportunities to meet your teammates, get stuck into an activity or learn something new, be this through lunch and learns, Challenge Days or Personal Development Time.
A: Internships start anytime after 6th June, and are full-time for 3 months.
A: You will have the flexibility to work from home should you want to, but you will also need to come into the office twice a week. This way, you can experience in-person collaboration, networking, and learning and development. You’ll also be able to make the most of our fully-stocked pantry, bi-weekly Happy Hour and company events! While at home, interns will still have full support from their team via regular team stand-ups, Slack, Lunch and Learns, Challenge Days and Fireside Talks.
A: Our IT team will provide all of our interns with a laptop to use for the entire duration of their internship. They’ll be on hand throughout your time at Benevolent to make sure your tech is all set up and you’re up to speed with our systems.
A: You can apply from outside of the UK and the US, but you must live, and have the right to carry out a paid internship, in the country that the role is based (either the UK or US). Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships.
If you have already obtained a visa or have the right to work within the office location (UK or USA) we encourage you to apply. More information can be found below:
A: A cover letter and resume are required for all roles, and we may also ask you for examples of projects you have worked on. Please check the Notes section of the job ad to see what is required. While it’s important to have knowledge of the fundamentals of the role, it’s also important to demonstrate a collaborative mindset and passion for the AI-drug discovery industry. Most tech interns work cross-functionally with people from engineering, AI science, bioinformatics and drug discovery backgrounds, so a natural curiosity is a must!
We actively welcome applications from candidates with non-traditional backgrounds.
