VP Strategy & Operations

BenevolentAI, founded in 2013, creates and applies AI technologies to transform the way medicines are discovered and developed. BenevolentAI seeks to improve patient’s lives by applying technology designed to generate better data decision making and in doing so lower drug development costs, decrease failure rates and increase the speed at which medicines are generated. The company has developed the Benevolent Platform™ - a discovery platform used by BenevolentAI scientists to find new ways to treat disease and personalise drugs to patients.BenevolentAI is HQ’d in London with a research facility in Cambridge (UK) and further offices in New York and Antwerp. BenevolentAI has active R&D drug programmes from discovery to PhaseIIb in disease areas such as ALS, Parkinson’s, Ulcerative Colitis and Sarcopenia.

The Role

BenevolentAI is the global leader in the development and application of artificial intelligence for drug discovery and development. We are hiring a VP of Strategy and Operations to drive strategic decision making and increase operational efficiency across the Company. This is a critical role that will report directly to the CEO and play a crucial role in impacting the growth of the Company

Primary Responsabilities

  • Lead the definition and articulation of Benevolent’s strategy: take in the views of the team to build a consistent framework for our overall company strategy and strategy for each of the product, tech, science, and corporate functions. Take responsibility for developing annual and long-term strategies to outline the future growth and direction of the Company.
  • Define and develop future business opportunities and revenue streams that leverage the Benevolent platform and lie outside our traditional business model.
  • Lead, manage and develop key relationships with investors and strategic partners.
  • Lead operational planning of our Company objectives and plans.
  • Measure and evaluate the performance of Company objectives and plans.
  • Support the CEO with the Board, particularly with regards to planning for board meetings.
  • Direct and support leadership team to ensure buy-in and consensus on key decisions and to guide the team to action.

We are looking for someone with

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of healthcare industry experience; consulting or corporate strategy/development experience highly preferred
  • Strong analytical background required, with business development and partnership experience preferred
  • Proven business development and partnership cultivation experience
  • A driven and flexible self-starter who can prioritise a challenging workload
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage senior-level stakeholders across multiple teams
