Site Reliability Engineer Internship · London

The Role

We are seeking one site reliability engineer to join our London team and work within our Infrastructure team. As part of the Site Reliability area, you will be responsible for the reliability of BenevolentAI’s systems, which the Core Engineering team relies on. You will focus on building infrastructure, continuously improving systems, and eliminating toil through automation. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, with a culture of diversity and openness.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Pursue a research project to investigate new approaches in applying tech-driven methods for drug discovery and development.
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional team comprising specialists in informatics, engineering, AI, drug discovery and product for applied research.
  • Design systems and features to improve the availability and efficiency of BenevolentAI’s services.
  • Building automation of repetitive tasks and creating technical documentation
  • Manage a full project from beginning to end.

We are looking for someone with

  • A strong background showcasing creativity and persistence in efforts.
  • A BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng or PhD in engineering, computer science or a related field with an interest in SRE or DevOps, or equivalent/alternative commercial or academic experience.
  • Programming skills (Python and Shell Scripting)
  • Good understanding of Linux OS.
  • Experience with source control tools such as git.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals such TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS.
  • Good communication skills who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
Nice to haves
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such Terraform, Ansible, Helm, et
