Senior Scientist - DMPK Outsourcing

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual, with great communication skills to lead our outsourcing and CRO strategy within the DMPK group. This position requires excellent strategic thinking and project management skills. You will be a point of contact for the group with research partners and interact with many different teams within the drug discovery organisation. We are ideally looking for an experienced DMPK scientist who is familiar with assays and studies, who is already involved in outsourcing, or who is looking for a change in direction from lab or project duties.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing the outsourcing of ADMET studies supporting routine screening cascade.
  • Building on existing and establishing new relationships with CROs, facilitating communication between our CROs and the DMPK team.
  • Liaising with project representatives to agree and confirm study designs and timelines.
  • Responsible for data upload of study data to Dotmatics database.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field and work with CROs to validate new approaches or find those who can offer these services.
  • Working closely with project management team to optimise management, sign off and tracking for studies.
  • Responsible for compound ordering, coordination of supplies and data, and tracking of shipments for studies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Potential to manage and coordinate later stage studies, working closely with project reps to ensure designs are suitable, potentially toxicology studies if experience is relevant.
  • Potential opportunity for mentoring and development of junior staff.
  • To interface efficiently with the project management team to update and streamline processes.

We are looking for someone with

  • In depth knowledge of DMPK and the wider Drug Discovery environment.
  • Able to communicate with key opinion leaders from different backgrounds such as chemistry and pharmacology.
  • Knowledge and experience of databases such as dotmatics.
  • In depth knowledge/use of programs such as Smart sheet or MS project.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and organisational skills.
  • Not essential, but preferred knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience of working within a project team would be advantageous and could be an additional responsibility of the role.
  • Experience of both early and later stage drug discovery, and the experimental designs and cascades that help drive strategy.
