Senior Accountant - 6 Month FTC

The Role

This role is a six months’ contract role, reporting to the Group Finance Manager. The key focus is to help implement a more structured and efficient close process to deliver the close report within 2 weeks of month end to a high professional level suitable for the reporting to be shared with investors. Other Financial Operations support will be required which is set out below.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Management Accounts – prepare month-end journals, prepayments and accruals across a number of entities and the reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts. Working closely with the Group Finance Manager to produce the group consolidated monthly Management Accounts, narrative and with the FP&A team for their forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Fixed Assets - management of the fixed assets, their reporting within Netsuite and assisting with IFRS16 adjustments
  • Group Expenses – administration of the group expenses systems, Expensify
  • Purchase approvals and controls - supporting the business to ensure the workflow from requisition to invoice posting is controlled and in line with company budgets and authorisation approval policies
  • Advising Group Accounts - Advising the group accounts team on correct accounting postings and investigating differences where required
  • Process improvement and optimisation - Ongoing tracking of operational process improvement opportunities and prioritisation through to delivery

We are looking for someone with

  • A qualified (CIMA / ACCA / CA with 2 years post qualifying experience) highly motivated individual who can communicate well at all levels with finance and non-finance individuals
  • Can adapt and embrace change in a fast-growth company
  • A change agent, comfortable with a fast pace
  • Can navigate ambiguity, and drive results
  • A team-oriented approach to working
  • Intermediate Excel (Vlookups/Pivots)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong current technical accounting knowledge
  • Interest in driving systems improvements
  • Preferred knowledge in tech or scientific industries and start-up or SME businesses
  • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software would be helpful
