Lead QA Engineer

The Role

The Application team is looking for a senior/lead QA engineer who will be embedded within our development teams to strengthen our release process and improve the quality of our web products. This is a unique opportunity to work within a scientific domain and apply the rigour of commercial environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers developing user-facing products to determine the overall testing strategy
  • Design, implement and maintain an end to end testing suite for our web applications
  • Integrate automated tests within our CI/CD pipeline and release process
  • Actively engage with stakeholders to clarify test cases and requirements
  • Perform load and stress tests to identify potential issues at different traffic volumes
  • Overall system validation, including internal and collaboration environments
  • Leading and mentoring team members

We are looking for someone with

  • 5/8+ years architecting and implementing software test automation
  • Solid experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous delivery systems
  • Experience in tools like Selenium or Cypress.io (ideally Cypress) as well as languages such as Javascript / Typescript or similar
  • Previous experience working in any of the Cloud Platforms (AWS desirable)
  • Proficiency with Bash, Docker, K8s
  • Strong communication skills to help build effective relationships across teams
  • Happy to work in a fast iterative environment
