IT Support Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a well rounded IT Support Engineer with knowledge of a broad range of technologies. You will be working on a range of different projects within our rapidly growing environment adopting a wide range of technologies on the cutting edge. This role will involve taking ownership of IT office support and taking it to the next level whilst operating and implementing new infrastructure. A vital part of the role is to work with teams with varying levels of technical expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for someone progressing their IT career enabling them access to cutting edge technologies in a fast-paced environment allowing for rapid growth

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing in-person technical office support(hardware/software issues)..
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining computer hardware, systems and basic office equipment(networks, printers, scanners, tablets, TVs, Google Meet VC).
  • Managing external vendors, suppliers and contractors.
  • Managing hardware stock, IT kit distribution and support.
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks (Juniper and Meraki routers/switches).
  • Owning disaster recovery for networks and critical office infrastructure.
  • Working with external contractors and internal security teams to ensure network security and compliance with internal policies.
  • Providing IT Support for Windows systems (Windows Server 2012/2016, Windows 7/10).
  • Documenting resolutions and building knowledge base articles.
  • Testing/implementing new technology/hardware and ensuring it meets business requirements.

We are looking for someone with

  • A good understanding of Windows in a corporate environment, including hardware and software.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience providing IT office support and maintaining office infrastructure.
  • Experience managing external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, switches, WiFi and VPNs.
  • A flexible approach to supporting cross-functional teams with varying technical knowledge.
  • A willingness to embrace change and learn new skills.
Nice to haves:
  • A flexible approach to supporting cross-functional teams with varying technical knowledge.
  • MacOS, Linux and Mobile Device Management (MDM such as JAMF).
  • Experience with Linux laptop maintenance and Linux server maintenance.
  • Experience in maintaining formal backup and disaster recovery strategy including regular testing.
  • Experience managing Atlassian suite of products, including Jira Service Desk and Confluence.
  • Experience maintaining lab IT infrastructure.
