The Role

At BenevolentAI we work with complex biological data that needs to be represented and exposed to our scientists in the most accessible and intuitive way. We build and maintain a number of Web user interfaces that provide key information to our users on protein-protein interaction networks, gene expression data etc. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about data visualization who will contribute to improving our existing product features as well as adding new ones of their own. You will be working in a team of engineers (frontend / full stack) and UX designers who are dedicated to build easy to use products for our scientists.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with other engineers to build custom visualizations 
  • Collaborate with UX designers to validate the ease of use of what’s being built
  • Identify opportunities for optimization in client rendering 
  • Work on protein interaction network graphs

We are looking for someone with

  • BSc/BEng/BA in Computer Science or a related field (completed or in progress) or equivalent commercial experience.
  • An interest in data visualization and rendering with WebGL and/or Canvas.
  • Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript. 
  • A problem-solving, impact-oriented mindset with a strong eye for great user experiences. 
  • Experience with D3.js, Pixi.js, Vue.js, GraphQL is a bonus.
